JAKARTA – The Association of Jesuit College Alumni (PAKJ) is targeting 5,000 units of blood from 100 locations across Indonesia through its nationwide blood donation drive in November 2026. Held under the theme The Gift of Life, the initiative brings together alumni, educational institutions, churches, companies and local communities in a collective effort to help save lives.
Octo Ruff, chairman of the organising committee and an alumnus of Gonzaga High School College, said the campaign aims to encourage greater public participation in blood donation while strengthening the spirit of solidarity among Jesuit college alumni.
Speaking on Tuesday, 3 November 2026, Octo said, “Our target is to collect 5,000 units of blood from 100 locations.”
He acknowledged that organising a nationwide campaign across multiple locations presents significant logistical challenges, particularly in ensuring the readiness of local committees and coordinating with regional branches of the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI).
“The challenges include the varying levels of preparedness among committees at each location, coordinating with the respective regional PMI offices, and securing sponsors for the event,” he said.
The campaign will take place throughout November, with participating venues ranging from schools and universities to churches, shopping centres and corporate offices.
The first donation drive is scheduled for 3 November at PIKA Vocational High School in Semarang. The campaign will then move to Sanata Dharma University’s Mrican Campus 2 in Yogyakarta on 6 November, followed by Palembang Icon Mall on 7 November.
On 8 November, simultaneous donation drives will be held at Arnoldus Jansen Church in Bekasi, the Bina Warga Hall of St. Luke’s Church in Samarinda, and Loyola High School College in Semarang.
The campaign will continue on 10 November at the multipurpose building of the Marsudirini Foundation in Bekasi, followed by Pangudi Luhur Bernadus High School Deltamas in Cikarang on 12 November.
On 13 November, blood donation activities are scheduled at Industrial Mechanical Engineering Academy (ATMI) Surakarta Polytechnic and Mikael Vocational High School in Solo, Suryamas Lumisindo Dwidaya Ltd in Central Jakarta, and Mebel International Limited Partnership (LP) in Semarang. Canisius High School College Jakarta will host the campaign on 14 November.
On 15 November, donation drives will take place at St. Raphael Clinic, in the grounds of Christ Our Friend Church in Nabire; the Indonesian Red Cross branch in Balikpapan; and Industrial Mechanical Engineering Academy (ATMI) Polytechnic in Cikarang.
The campaign will continue at St. Paul’s Church in Juanda, Surabaya, on 22 November, followed by Wahana Tata Insurance in South Jakarta on 23 November. Gonzaga High School College in South Jakarta is scheduled to host the final event listed in the campaign poster on 28 November.
Through The Gift of Life, PAKJ hopes to encourage people to see blood donation not merely as a charitable activity, but as a tangible expression of care for others. The initiative also highlights the role that alumni networks, educational institutions, churches and businesses can play in supporting humanitarian efforts and helping meet the need for blood supplies.
With a target of 5,000 units from 100 locations, the campaign seeks to turn the spirit of solidarity into a concrete contribution to saving lives across Indonesia.
